As world financial leaders and executives converged on GW for the Annual Meetings of the Work Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, the Department of Music showcased their diversity and talents at several performances. Faculty and students performed on the University Yard and outside IMF Headquarters over several days. Professor Millicent Scarlett, accompanied by Professor Jeffery Watson on piano, sang an international song set with student Samuel Lee. Professor Magdalena Duhagon performed a set of acoustic guitar music for onlookers, and the Department’s weekly Jazz Jam moved to IMF Headquarters on the final day of the meetings to provide Latin Jazz for the crowds.

The Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, private sector executives, and academics to discuss issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness.
