One of the most exciting elements of SPCMI is the concert series. Faculty and student concerts are held at amazing venues all over the Washington, D.C. area for our students' families, friends, and the greater D.C. community. 

GW's Summer Piano & Chamber Music Showcase

Part of The Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage concert series, this concert will showcase the Institute's mixed student-faculty ensembles,  performing the works of Beethoven, Brahms, Lachner, Mozart, Ravel and Rebecca Clarke. Faculty Artists Malinee Peris and the Aeolus Quartet will play Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.12 in A Major, K.414.

Culminating Week One of SPCMI, this concert will feature music from the student and student/faculty ensembles formed at the Institute. There will also be select solo student performance. There will be a small reception for family and friends after the concert.

The GW Department of Music is thrilled to announce pianist Ieva Jokubaviciute, and the Aeolus Quartet are returning to The Phillips Collection this summer for a recital in honor of GW’s Summer Piano & Chamber Music Institute. Taking place Thursday, July 17 in The Phillips Collection’s historic Music Room, Jokubaviciute and Aeolus’s recital will include performances of Debussy’s String Quartet in G minor, Op 10; Beethoven’s Cello Sonata No. 5, Op. 102 No. 2; and Franck’s Piano Quintet.
